Women-Led Wednesday
To foster the success of Women-Led businesses and brands, we encourage you to support Women-Led Wednesday this holiday season to empower female entrepreneurs and promote gender equality in the business world. Women-Led Wednesday was created in 2018 by Cassie Abel, the founder of Wild Rye. She noticed there wasn’t a dedicated day to support women-owned businesses, similar to Small Business Saturday for small businesses. This inspired her to establish Women-Led Wednesday, which takes place annually on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
Support Women-Led Brands
There are several ways to find and support women-led brands:
- Online Directories and Lists: Websites like NBC News and Entertainment Tonight often compile lists of women-owned brands across various categories, such as beauty, fashion, food, and home goods.
- Social Media: Platforms like Instagram and Pinterest are great for discovering women-led businesses. You can follow hashtags like #WomenOwnedBusiness, #WomenLed, or #SupportWomenOwned.
- Marketplaces: Websites like Etsy and Amazon have sections dedicated to women-owned businesses. You can filter your searches to find products from these sellers.
- Local Events and Markets: Check out local craft fairs, farmers’ markets, and pop-up shops. These events often feature women-led businesses and provide a great opportunity to support local entrepreneurs. 5. Women-Led Wednesday: Participate in Women-Led Wednesday by visiting WomenLedWednesday.com, which features a directory of women-led brands to support during the holiday season and beyond.
